Just launched a kickstarter campaign to raise money to fund scientific research around the nutritional break down of fodder at various stages of growth for our book on Fodder. Please check it out!

We have butchered a couple of our pigs so far. And we have done lots of chickens. And after having done so with the kids and tasted the meat that was grown here on the farm, I can't imagine not living this way ever again.

From the blog

Having said that I recently watched several great videos that tell me just how wasteful we have been so far. I am going to have to try some of these butchering techniques the next time around so that nothing on our pigs goes to waste. These aren't just videos about butchering though. It is a movie (4 parts) about the old times and how food used to be handled by the community and for the community.

Meet Farmstead Meatsmith The makers of these films at Farmstead Meatsmith are in the throws of producing more media like this. To do so, they have launched a Kickstarter campaign that will give them the infrastructure to make more instructional media on traditional livestock harvesting. The fourth video (at the bottom) is their pitch video. You can find their campaign here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1627046254/butcher-shop-and-slaughter-truck-for-meatsmith-edu.
